12 Days of Unforgettable Wildlife Encounters

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Welcome to Rwanda! Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you'll be met by our representative and transferred to your boutique hotel in the city. After some time to refresh, enjoy a guided tour of Kigali including the moving Genocide Memorial, which provides powerful insight into Rwanda's history and remarkable recovery.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at one of Kigali's finest restaurants featuring Rwandan cuisine with modern influences.

Day 2: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

Scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, depart for Volcanoes National Park (approximately 2.5 hours). The scenic drive takes you through Rwanda's beautiful terraced hillsides, with views of the Virunga volcanoes in the distance.

Arrive at your luxury lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about gorilla conservation efforts. Enjoy dinner at the lodge with views of the volcanoes.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience

An early start for the highlight of your Rwanda experience - gorilla trekking. After breakfast and briefing at park headquarters, set out with your guide and trackers to find one of the park's habituated gorilla families.

The trek can take from 30 minutes to several hours through dense forest, depending on the gorillas' location. Once found, you'll spend an unforgettable hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon at leisure to relax after your trek.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trek & Transfer to Tanzania

This morning, embark on a golden monkey trek in Volcanoes National Park. These playful, endangered primates are a delight to observe as they leap through the bamboo forest. Return to the lodge for lunch before transferring back to Kigali for your evening flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania.

Upon arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your lodge near Arusha (approximately 1 hour).

Day 5: Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Scenic flight to Serengeti

After breakfast, transfer to Arusha Airport for your scheduled flight to the Serengeti (approximately 1.5 hours). Enjoy breathtaking aerial views of the landscape changing from cultivated fields to vast savanna.

Upon arrival, you'll be met by your safari guide and transferred to your luxury camp. After lunch and some relaxation time, embark on your first game drive in the Serengeti, returning to camp as the sun sets.

Day 6-7: Great Migration Safari

Two full days to explore the Serengeti and witness the Great Migration, one of nature's most spectacular events. Your mobile camp moves seasonally to follow the migration patterns, ensuring you're always in the best location.

Your days will follow the natural rhythm of safari life with early morning and late afternoon game drives when animals are most active. Depending on the season, you may witness river crossings, calving season, or the vast herds moving across the plains.

One evening includes sundowner drinks at a scenic viewpoint followed by a bush dinner under the stars.

Day 8: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Morning game drive en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approximately 4 hours). Arrive at your lodge perched on the crater rim in time for lunch with spectacular views.

The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the lodge's facilities. As the sun sets, enjoy a presentation by a local conservationist about the unique ecosystem of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Wildlife in Ngorongoro Crater

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing in this natural wonder. The crater's high walls create a unique ecosystem that supports an incredible density of wildlife, including all of the Big Five.

Enjoy a picnic lunch by a hippo pool before continuing your exploration of the crater floor. In the late afternoon, ascend back to your lodge with time to relax before dinner.

Day 10-11: Tarangire National Park

Elephants in Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 3 hours), known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy afternoon and next morning game drives in this underrated park that offers excellent wildlife viewing away from the crowds.

One evening includes a special bush dinner under the stars with traditional Maasai dancers performing.

Day 12: Departure

Kilimanjaro International Airport

After a final morning game drive and breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (approximately 2 hours) for your flight home or onward journey, taking with you unforgettable memories of Africa's most incredible wildlife experiences.
